Get To Know Patrick And Why He Said Yes To Being A Model

How did you get roped into doing this, and what was your first thought when asked?

I was asked by the Eugene regional dance champion and 2018 Catwalk alum, Allan Benavides, who thought I'd be a great fit. I was definitely a bit overwhelmed when first asked given how many phenomenal people take part in this event, but I figured I could hold my own on the runway.

Why did you say yes?

I wholeheartedly believe in the mission of the Boys and Girls Club and all that they do for the youth in our community. Plus, I have a storied history of embarrassing myself in this town (see: Relief Nursery Lip Sync Battle).

What is your official job title?

Eugene Emeralds - Director of Events and Promotions

How would you describe your job to your mother?

I try incredibly hard to prove to my mother that I am a fully-functional adult, so I explain that wearing ridiculous outfits and performing on the field is all part of the job. I help make memories for all fans that attend our games.

What is your favorite part of your occupation?

There is no dull day at the ballpark. From launching myself in a knockerball at other interns on the field, or dancing on the dugout top, the electricity of the Emeralds' crowd is unbelievable.

All families are unique, tell us about yours.
Both of my parents immigrated from Poland when they were young adults and started a new life in southern California. Their story motivates me in my personal journey to make the most of the opportunities that they've been able to provide for me. They both will also claim that they have no idea how I gained the comfortability to be out in front of a large crowd.

Tell us about your personal passions, talents, and/or hobbies.

The NFL RedZone Channel. Seven hours of commercial-free football. What a time to be alive.
I also enjoy hiking with my fiancée and taking in the awesome brewery scene Oregon has to offer.

What is something you swore you would never do as a parent before you had kids that you do now?

I'm still surprised my adoring fiancée said yes to marrying me so let me get used to that thought before bringing a child into this world.

Who inspired you when you were growing up, and why?

I will always admire my parents for the job they did in raising me as a team and helping me to become the man that I am today. Their relentless pursuit of success set the foundation for me to pursue my goals and ambitions.

If you could go back and talk to your 12-year-old self, what would you say?

Let life come to you. Things have an odd way of working out if you work hard. Oh, and just because you get older, doesn't mean you ever have to grow up.
