Get To Know Chris And Why He Said Yes To Being A Model

How did you get roped into doing this, and what was your first thought when asked?

A previous participant asked me/ dared me to be brave enough to be a model for a cause - and my first thought was 'have they seen this face and posture'.

Why did you say yes?

Because I want to be a small part of the answer to making this community a better place for anyone and everyone and helping the youth of the community is a critical part of that.

What is your official job title?

Vice President, Controller at Summit Bank

How would you describe your job to your mother?

I do stuff with money and numbers and that Microsoft program you hate, Excel, yeah I do a lot of that.

What is your favorite part of your occupation?

I work with and provide a service to great people, for a great local business at Summit Bank and that really makes going to work everyday great. I also work with numbers and spreadsheets all day and I can honestly say I love doing that.

All families are unique, tell us about yours.

I'm an immigrant from England. My wife is from New England (VT). We are true Eugene transplants that graduated as Ducks and we just never left because we love this town and this part of the country.

Tell us about your personal passions, talents, and/or hobbies.

My wife and children are my biggest passion and focus, after that soccer (Manchester City and Portland Timbers) and golf.

What is something that you swore you would never do as a parent before you had kids that you do now?

I told myself I would never care about or get interested in shows for young kids, but here I am getting concerned how the Paw Patrol is going to save the day in Adventure Bay again, and why Everest and Rocky are under utilized team members... "If you're in trouble just yelp for help!"... see what i mean? - I hate myself for it but it's must watch TV.

Who inspired you when you were growing up, and why?

The X-Men and my Mum - both taught me to not worry about being or feeling different and to find what my gift was and use it for good.

If you could go back and talk to your 12-year-old self, what would you say?

I know you won't believe me when I tell you this, but all that nerdy comic book stuff will be super trendy when you're older. You'll be able to watch Marvel movies on the big screen, and there will be tons of them. And you can wear a t-shirt with the X-Men on it and not have to wonder if you'll ever get a "Yes" when you ask someone out on a date. You're just a maverick 25 years ahead of your time...oh and let go of your dreams to be a pro soccer player... seriously... you're too slow and lack talent, let that ship sail.
