Get To Know Ashley And Why She Said Yes To Being A Model
How did you get roped into doing this, and what was your first thought when asked?
I was honored to be asked. I have had many friends model for Catwalk in the previous years and I have always admired their courage to put themselves out there. I am nervous, but knowing its for a great cause definitely helps ease the nerves.
Why did you say yes?
I said yes because Amy Newport is a good closer. ;-)
And who doesn't love getting dressed up to support the kids of our community!
What is your official job title?
Executive Assistant at Northwest Anesthesia Physicians
How would you describe your job to your mother?
It's like raising children, but 52 of them! Each of them unique and special in their own way.
What is your favorite part of your occupation?
Every day is something different. Not many days do I walk in the hospital and know what to expect. Supporting 52 diverse physicians makes my job exciting! They keep me on my toes and challenge me in new ways each day.
Tell us about your personal passions, talents, and/or hobbies.
I spend most of my time being a mom to my two sweet boys, and when the Oregon weather allows I love to get outdoors and explore. Camping and sitting around a warm fire, hiking and riding my bike through trails along the river. Anything that allows you to breathe in that fresh crisp air! I'll also almost never say no to a good glass of wine. I have a passion for anything fitness related. There is something so extremely rewarding about pushing your body past the point of something you thought you could never do. I have never been a runner and in 2018 I completed the Eugene Half Marathon. I will NEVER forget that feeling as I crossed the finish line.
What is something that you swore you would never do as a parent before you had kids that you do now?
Eat McDonald's. There are busy nights that a happy meal has saved our lives!
Who inspired you when you were growing up, and why?
My father. He is the hardest working person I know. Even with how hard he worked and how busy he was, he always found time to be present. He never missed a sporting event or school show of mine. He always made sure I knew I could count on him to be there.
If you could go back and talk to your 12-year-old self, what would you say?
Embrace your curly hair. Ha!
